Beaches
A rich assortment of tropical beaches with soft sand and rolling waves. Getting Around
Little red Tuk-Tuks swarm around the main touristy areas and will test your shrewd bargaining skills! We'd suggest you arrive at around half the original "quoted" fare (Patong to Phuket Town is around 400 Baht). Motorcycle taxis are half the price. Hey, if you're brave enough you can rent your own little moped and whiz round the hotspots - don't forget your helmet though!

The name "Phuket" comes from the old Malay word seen above, which means "hill". Pretty accurate when considering 70% of this island is mountainous - perfect for ATV quad biking, elephant trekking and cable riding!
