From Phuket to Koh Samui
Koh Samui is the second largest island in Thailand after Phuket.
Known for its coconut groves, diversity of beaches and the mountainous rainforest. You will have to roll up your beach towel and see what you can find. who knows, maybe you’ll end up napping under a coconut tree!
Some people say that the word “Samui” is derived from the Malay word “Saboey” which means “Safe haven”.
The island is big enough for exploration and for the adventures seekers, motorbikes on the island are available for rent like on many islands in Thailand.
The road system of Koh Samui is more developed than the other islands nearby, and there are a lot of taxis cruising around.
Hidden high up in the hills the “Secret Buddha Garden”, offering an unusual collection of statues with a beautiful jungle surrounding the whole place. The garden was created by an old fruit Samui farmer in 1976.
On the northern coast of Koh Samui, Lies The famous Big Buddha temple. It is probably the most well-known landmark on the island.
This temple has a 12-meter high Buddha statue. It can be reached by a stairway full of Nagas (mythological serpents). And from up there you can enjoy a great view of Koh Phangan the island’s neighbor.
From Phuket New Bus Station to Nathon Pier by bus/minivan+ferry
Nathon Pier is Koh Samui’s main pier, you will find many trips from the pier to many of the amazing nearby islands such as Koh Tao, the local dive capital, and Koh Phangan.
You will also find a variety of tour desks, restaurants, banks, and hotels.
There is no direct way from Phuket to Koh Samui, you have to take a bus or a private minivan from Phuket New Bus Station, to take you to Donsak Pier near Surat Thani which will take 7 Hrs 30 Mins, and from there you will take a ferry to Nathon Pier and this trip takes about 7 Hrs 30 Mins.
The whole trip costs 640 THB, and because it’s a joint-ticket, the ticket price includes both the bus/minivan and the ferry trip.
From Phuket Town to Nathon Pier
In Phuket Town the bus will be waiting for you to take you to Tapee Pier in Surat Thani, this trip will take 6 Hrs 15 Mins, and then you’ll take a ferry to Nathon Pier in Koh Samui, the ferry trip will take 6 Hrs 15 Mins and the whole trip will cost you 1,300 THB.
From Phuket International Airport to Nathon Pier
You can easily book our minivan to take you from Phuket’s airport reaching Blue Canyon Phuket in . Where you can take another minivan or a bus to reach Tapee Pier in Surat Thani town in around . From there you will start your ferry trip which will take to Nathon Pier in Koh Samui.
It’s a joint-ticket so it will cost you for the whole trip.

Best time to visit
The climate is humid and warm most of the year, Samui’s weather is relatively drier than Phuket and the rest of southern Thailand. February and March are the sunniest and driest months. Late December to April is the best time for swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, and suntanning.
