Getting to the incomparable Chiang Mai is not a difficult task due to the vast options of transportation. If you wish to travel by air, Chiang Mai International Airport is more than happy to welcome you. The airport operates both international and domestic flights, it is located 3 km southwest of the city center with shuttle services to take you between the airport and the city. A bus option is also available as Chiang Mai has some bus stations with Bangkok connection including Arcade Bus Station which is the main one. Chiang Mai also has a fully functional train station located 3 km east of the city center with routes to a few places including Bangkok which will take you 12 to 15 hours to reach Chiang Mai. Hiring a private car transport is also an option for those with a higher budget.

The main and sole reason people visit Doi Suthep is to see the captivating Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which is one of the holiest sites in Thailand with a lot of cultural value.

The temples are the real attractions when people come to the old city including Wat Phan Tao and Wat Chedi Luang.

Located between Ping River and the city moat. The night bazaar is a great place for personal or souvenir shopping. The bazaar opens at 6 pm and it is especially known for its portrait paintings and handicrafts as well as it sells clothing, jewelry, electronic devices and more. You can also indulge in some delicious culinary treats and continue your shopping spree. It is a part you mustn’t miss in the true Chiang Mai experience.

Chiang Mai Elephant Jungle Sanctuary

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
Chiang Mai's Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is one of the first places to carry on the ethical elephant attractions, which is a more pro-animal approach. Visitors are not allowed to ride on the backs of the elephants as it is bad for them instead you get to feed and play with them and sometimes you will get to bathe them. You can get a full-day or half-day tour depending on your preference.
