From Koh Lanta to Koh Phi Phi

Koh Phi Phi
Back in the 90s, Phi Phi island was visited by only adventurous travelers. But after the famous movie “The Beach” was filmed there, tourism exploded on the island and the area around it, including Krabi and its islands.

Phi Phi island is now one of the most famous destinations in Thailand, it’s known for kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, and other marine activities.

Unlike any other destination in Thailand, motorcycles, tuk-tuks, and cars are not available on the island. You’ll find only a scarce number of bicycles and a lot of people walking around since “on foot” is the main way of transportation on Phi Phi.

Koh Phi Phi is a group of six islands, Phi Phi Don is the largest and most crowded of the six islands. It’s known for the diversity of the seafood restaurants on the beach, reggae bars, coffee shops, plenty of shops to buy unique souvenirs for family and friends, and the vibrant nightlife. You can also find plenty of stores to buy clothes from, banks, ATM machines, and pharmacies.

Since only water surrounds the beautiful island, and there are no airports on it, getting to Phi Phi can only be through the sea. Either by a ferry or a speedboat, there are plenty of trips every day to Phi Phi from all the nearby destinations including Koh Lanta.
