Koh Phi Phi is a group of six islands yet, technically there are only two islands that people mostly visit “Phi Phi Don” which is the bigger and most popular and “ Phi Phi Leh” it’s smaller than Phi Phi Don and only accessible by fishing boats or by tours.

There are no motorcycles on the island, unlike most of Thailand, renting a motorcycle on Phi Phi is impossible since the only mode of transportation on the island is on foot. The island isn’t big and you will find how easy and convenient it is to walk around the island.


From Phuket to Phi Phi Island by boat

The only way to getting to Koh Phi Phi is by boat, the nearest airports to the island are Phuket International Airport and Penang in Malaysia.

There are three piers in Phuket from where you can find your direct ferry or speedboat to Phi Phi. While there are two piers in Koh Phi Phi “Tonsai Pier” is the main pier on Koh Phi Phi Don, and “Laemtong Bay” this pier is not an actual pier, it’s a natural bay that serves only four resorts “Phi Phi Holiday Inn Resort, Zeavola Resort, Phi Phi Natural Resort, and PP Erawan Resort”.


From Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier

Rassada Pier is Phuket’s main pier, there are plenty of ferries and speedboats depart this pier daily to Tonsai Pier.

There are ferries departing from 8:30 AM till 5:00 PM afternoon. The ferry trip takes around 50 mins and costs 450 THB “ the price does not include 200 THB entry fees in Phi Phi”.

The speedboat is a faster way to reach the island yet it’s more expensive but if you are a group then this trip fits you well.

The speedboat trip costs 450 THB and takes 50 mins to reach the island.


From Rassada Pier to Laemtong Bay

The ferry departs Rassada Pier to reach Laemtong Bay in 1 hrs 30 mins. This trip costs 800 THB “ the price does not include 200 THB entry fees in Phi Phi”.

There are refreshments and snacks on board so you can enjoy the view properly.


From Sea Angel Pier to Tonsai Pier

Sea Angel Pier is located near Phuket town just 10 minutes away. Ferries leave this pier at 9:00 AM and arrive at Phi Phi around 11:00 AM

The ferry trip takes 2 hrs to reach Tonsai Pier and costs 600 THB.


From Numchai Pier to Tonsai Pier

The ferry trip from Numchai Pier in Phuket takes about to reach Koh Phi Phi’s main pier “Tonsai Pier”. The trip costs “ the price does not include 200 THB entry fees in Phi Phi”.
