From Railay to Koh Lanta

The island is an escape from the crowd and the busy destinations like Koh Phi Phi and Phuket. Lanta’s coastline has about a dozen beaches and some of them are considered to be the best in Thailand. Koh Lanta has a variety of accommodation prices that fit every budget and also has enough facilities for you to enjoy your stay completely.


How to get to Lanta


There are vast options to get to this beauty. The island is accessible by sea, road, or you can fly to Trang or Krabi airports then take a minivan or a bus to the island. The passenger ferry is the most popular option during November and all the way to April.


From Railay to Koh Lanta


There are two options to get to Koh Lanta from Railay either by a longtail boat then a direct ferry or a longtail boat and then get on a minivan to Lanta. wanna know how? Follow me! From Railay Bay to Saladan Pier by ferry Railay Bay is a beach there are only sand and water no concrete so in order to reach the ferry you have to take a local longtail boat from the bay to the ferry and hop on a  ferry trip to Saladan Pier which is the main pier in Lanta. This trip costs  including the longtail boat fare. But unfortunately, this trip is available only from November to April.


From Railay Bay to Saladan Pier by longtail boat + minivan


This option is recommended for you if you’re traveling from May to October when the ferry no longer operates. This trip includes a longtail boat from Railay Bay to Ao Nam Mao Pier in Ao Nang which takes around  and from the pier, you’ll take a minivan to Koh Lanta. the minivan trip takes around  and the whole trip including the longtail boat trip costs .

Best time to visit


The best time to visit Koh Lanta is during the hot and dry season which run from January to April. The wet season starts from May to December and pretty much everything closes during the wet season.
