The Chiang Mai Flower Festival takes place every year during the first weekend of February and lasts for three days, coinciding with the time when Chiang Mai’s many beautiful and exotic flowers are in full bloom at the end of the cool season.
The highlight of the festival is the grand floral parade on Saturday morning. The procession begins at the train station, moves along to Nawarat Bridge—where spectators can enjoy the view from bleachers—and ends at Nong Buak Hat Park.
At the park, a lively fair is held featuring local crafts, delicious food, and even traditional massages under the trees. The main stage hosts concerts and the popular Miss Flower Festival beauty contest. Around the park, Thanon Arak and Thanon Bamrungburi streets are partly closed off to make way for a vibrant market filled with food stalls and vendors.
Meanwhile, in front of the iconic Tha Phae Gate, visitors can enjoy concerts and charming performances by students from local Chiang Mai schools.
