Klong Prao Beach, Koh Chang
Klong Prao is the beach south of White Sand and is considerably quieter, a long stretch of sand broken into sections by two tidal creeks that run out into the sea.
Those estuaries are part of its character: at low tide sandbanks appear and you can walk a long way out; at high tide the creeks fill and small boats work them. The resorts here are spread out rather than concentrated in a strip.
Klong Plu waterfall, the island's best known, is inland from the middle of the beach. The same monsoon caution applies as along the whole west coast.
- Lonely Beach (Hat Tha Nam), Koh Chang — The backpacker beach on the south-west coast, cheaper and livelier after dark.
- Bang Bao Fishing Village, Koh Chang — A stilt village built out over the water at the island's southern tip, and the departure pier for the outer islands.
- Kai Bae Beach, Koh Chang — A west-coast beach with small islands offshore and the island's best sunset outlook.
- Than Mayom Waterfall, Koh Chang — A tiered waterfall on the island's east coast, carrying royal initials carved into the rock.
- White Sand Beach (Hat Sai Khao), Koh Chang — Koh Chang's longest and busiest beach, on the island's north-west shore.
