From Railay Bay to Saladan Pier by ferry

Railay Bay is an idyllic beach location devoid of any concrete structures, maintaining its natural sandy allure. To reach Koh Lanta from here, your journey begins with a local longtail boat ride from the bay to connect with the ferry service. Once aboard the ferry, you will be whisked away on a scenic voyage directly to Saladan Pier, which serves as Koh Lanta's main gateway. However, it’s important to note that this ferry service operates only during the high season, from November to April.

From Railay Bay to Saladan Pier by longtail boat + minivan

Should your travel fall between May and October, when the direct ferry service suspends its operations, this alternative route is the way to go. It involves an initial longtail boat trip from Railay Bay to Ao Nam Mao Pier in Ao Nang. Once you arrive at Ao Nam Mao Pier, a minivan transfer service will be your next leg of the journey, taking you directly to Koh Lanta. This combination of sea and land travel is efficient and ensures that you can reach your destination throughout the year, regardless of the ferry schedule.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Koh Lanta is during the hot and dry season which run from January to April. The wet season starts from May to December and pretty much everything closes during the wet season.
