From Railay to Phuket Ferry, Speedboat or Bus

Tuk Tuk is the best way to get around Phuket if your trip is not more than 30 minutes as it tends to be uncomfortable. It’s one of the most convenient ways as they’re everywhere. But they can be expensive if your trip is outside of the town. A taxi, rental car or Songthaew “ Thailand’s local blue bus” can be a better option.

You can rent a car at Phuket international airport and you can also rent them from your hotel. But to do so you should carry an international driving permit.

Motorcycles are the favored transportation on Phuket. As it grants an easier way to access the off-road beaches and the smaller neighborhoods of the island “ Just make sure to stay on the left side of the road and don’t forget to wear a helmet.”

You can rent a motorcycle for the day or for short distances, look for the “motorcycle taxi”, drivers wear red or green vests and they will take you anywhere you want.

From Railay to Phuket by minivan/taxi

Rassada Pier, Sea Angel Pier, Phuket international airport, Patong, Phuket Marina, and Phuket town. You can book a private taxi/minivan or shared minivan to take from or to all these places and more.

The private taxi costs  and carries maximum 3 people. The cost of the private minivan is  and it carries maximum 8 people per van, and the shared minivan costs  per person. From Railay to Phuket by ferry The island has three piers Sea Angel Pier, Numchai Pier, and the main Pier Rassada Pier, but from Railay, the ferries only sail to Rassada Pier.

From Railay Bay to Rassada Pier

The ferries operate daily during the high season (November to April), in low season (May to October) the ferries operate on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Please note that from July to October, operators may provide Speedboat instead of a ferry with no extra charge due to boat maintenance.

The ferry trip from Railay Bay to Rassada Pier is a direct trip. It takes 2 hrs and costs 665 THB.

Best time to visit

the best time to visit Phuket is between November and April, the weather condition is ideal for swimming, boating, and other beach activities. Monsoon season starts between May and October, although the accommodation prices are way lower this time of the year, the water can be very dangerous.
